The Last Day and a Half 8/14 – 8/15

We left Becca and Travis’s at 8 a.m. in Portland and drove all day to get to San Francisco. The drive for the most part was luscious green mountains and beautiful. We also got to see Mount Shasta and Lake Shasta. They were both awesome to see and the weather got warmer as we got closer to San Francisco. It was a long day of driving and by dinner time we stopped at In-n-Out and got some burgers. It sure was good to have a taste of California again.

After dinner we met up with Tahir in Hayward. We planned to go bowling since Tahir and I love to bowl. Fortunately there was a special that night where we could bowl for 3 hours for only $13 a person. It was a blast despite all the poor scores we had trying to find the sweet spot. After we went bowling with Tahir we got back on the road. Alyssa was thinking that we would stop for the night but I was feeling wired at midnight and decided we should just go home and sleep. I drove until about 3:00AM before I let Alyssa drive the rest of the way home. My stomach was having a hard time that night which meant we probably should have stayed the night up North but I pushed through the pain. We did have to stop a couple times to use the bathroom which made the trip a little longer but we did beat the sun coming up. We got home at 5:55AM and got to surprise everyone when we got home. We love making surprises to our families, haha.

We are thrilled to be home again sleeping in our own beds and eating home cooked dinners. We can’t wait to get up to date with everything that has been going on including the Olympics in Rio and see our friends again!
