Sunday in Page, AZ

We had a decent night’s sleep in our Prius but it still was a little uncomfortable due to the heat. We had our fans going that lasted until around 3 am and it was around then that we realized the Walmart in Page was not a 24 hour so we couldn’t use a bathroom until 5 am. We were lucky we didn’t have to go but it could have been trouble. We weren’t the only ones in the parking lot sleeping, there were a good number of RVs and cars around; it was almost like a party, haha.

After getting the car packed, we ate breakfast and headed to the church building. We arrived an hour early because we weren’t positive about what the local time was. We used the extra time to update our blog. Church was interesting in Page as a single family gave all three talks, but each shared a good and true message.

Glen Canyon Dam

Since we were next to lake Powell we had to go to the Glen Canyon Dam. Alyssa had only gone there once but it was back in high school and she really didn’t remember much so it was good to stop. From there we were on our way to Four Corners.

Four Corners Monument

When we got to Four Corners there was a long line just to drive in and pay our $5 per person entrance fee. Then we stood in another long line in the 100 degree heat and sun just to take a picture on the monument. It was actually quite fun, though what I enjoyed the most was driving around the monument area just to say we have driven in four states in less than 5 minutes, haha. After purchasing our Four Corners magnet (which featured hand made Native American sand art) we got back on the road and headed to Santa Fe.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

On the way to Santa Fe, New Mexico, the weather went from 100 degree heat and sun to rainy and mid 70’s — what a blessing. We drove into town and had dinner at a fun New Mexican restaurant called Tune-Up Cafe, where we enjoyed a chile relleno and enchilada while watching the end of the Argentina v Chile soccer game. After dinner we drove about 20 minutes down the road and stayed at the local KOA campground which was pretty nice. The weather was much better in the fact that it wasn’t hot or even warm, we were surprised that it was cold when we woke up the next morning.
