Mountain Biking – Mr Boad’s Wild Ride

This weekend we skipped going hiking due to a ward fundraiser that involved breakfast burritos and a 22 mile bike ride in Aliso Woods. This biking course consisted of doing all the climbs possible in Aliso woods which were 6 trails. I asked dad if he wanted to join me on this expedition and he was eager to come even though he has never ridden on these trails. We started with the Meadows trail which was a brutal climb to the top, then turned around and headed back down to go to the rest of the climbs, Dripping Cave, Mathis, Top of the World, Cholla, and Rock-It (dad didn’t do rock-it, He was done after doing 5 climbs).

After braving the crazy climbs of the these trails we made it back to the starting point, which was at the Church Building off of Alicia Parkway in Aliso Viejo, and found out that we did the longest way possible to do all these trails, haha. Most riders rode 13-15 miles while I accomplished it in 22 miles with over 3,000 feet in elevation gains. I was basically the last one to arrive and practically got the last burrito but I was a happy man.
