While we haven't traveled in our Prius lately due to our family growing we have definitely been traveling in our new to us 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE. We decided on this Sienna due to the large carrying capacity and 8 seats. We chose the XLE because of the comfort features like Navigation, leather seats, rear movie display and more but most importantly the automatic sliding doors. The doors are a game changer for families that have little kids and car seats, they allow access to car seats much easier than SUVs, trucks, and sedan vehicles.
The last few trips we have taken have been in the Sienna and have been a blessing. That doesn't mean it is a perfect vehicle but it is near. We have had to replace a few things such as the blower motor and tires but they are really not that difficult to replace. We like the Toyota vehicles because we find them very reliable, parts are inexpensive and they are well built vehicles.
While we probably wont travel often in the Prius anymore we still use it as a daily driver and work vehicle. We have put on over 110,000 miles on it since we bought it in 2016. Only 14,000 miles have been from our big cross country adventure. Maybe one day we will get a new Sienna Hybrid and do another cross country trip if we can a way to do it with our kids, only time will tell.
