10 States , 9 National Parks, 16 days

Due to Covid and all the crazy limitations on traveling we decided to create a road trip for the summer Traveling through 10 states and 9 National Parks over 16 days. Obviously there is so much to see on a road trip that it is hard to stay in one place to see everything you'd like to see. We managed to hit some great highlights over those 16 days and we couldn't have asked for better weather. The states we traveled through were California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado. The National Parks we were able to visit were Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and Badlands National Park.

While we still own our Blue Prius we opted this time to take our 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE as we have since expanded our family with two toddlers and we were packed with car seats and more luggage. This trip we traveled a total of around 4200 miles with an average of 23 miles per gallon and an average of $3.25 per gallon. We did have a couple repairs along the way, the front blower fan gave out and we got a flat on our way to Mount Rushmore but other than that the car ran great.

Our highlights from the trip are visiting all the National Parks and eating at some hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Also being able to visit friends and family along the way and staying at many Airbnbs were exciting too.
